Continuing Education Credits

This Conference program potentially has a total of18.5 credit hours (Saturday 5.5 hours; Sunday4.75 hours; Monday 5.5 hours; & Tuesday 2.75hours.) Because each accrediting body must approve the program prior to assigning credits, the specific number of credits accepted by each state and for each type of credit will not be definite until October. Keep in mind that not all hours will be deemed acceptable for all types of credit. Questions about continuing education credits can be sent to Kelly Dolan at Kelly@heusergroup.com or contact NGA’s business office at 877-326-5992.

Generic Certificate of Attendance

This year, NGA will include a generic certificate of attendance in the Conference Packet AT NO COST TO ATTENDEES. This certificate can be used to verify your attendance for recertification credits from the Center for Guardianship Certification or any other agency to which you apply on your own for some type of recertification credits. However, if you want specific certificates of attendance for PRE-APPROVED state-specific guardianship, legal, or social work credits, you will still need to pay a fee for that specific certificate. While all attendees will receive the generic certificate of attendance AT NO COST, fees for the specialized certificates apply based in part on the amount NGA must pay to have the sessions accredited. Fees maybe paid in advance by completing the Certificate Order form found on the website and included with this brochure.

State Specific Guardianship Credits

NGA will apply for guardianship credits with the Florida Public Guardianship Office, Professional Guardian Certification Board of Washington State, Professional Fiduciary Association of California, and Texas Guardianship Association. For a specific certificate documenting the PRE-APPROVED State Specific Guardianship credits in these states, a fee will be required. (See Certificate order form for fees.)

Continuing Legal Education Credits

NGA will seek approval of Conference sessions for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits in the NGA affiliate states of Alaska, California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We will also apply for Legal Credits from Tennessee and the surrounding non-affiliate states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi and South Carolina. For a specific certificate documenting the PRE-APPROVED legal credits in these states, a fee will be required. (See Certificate order form for fees.)

Social Work Credits

NGA applies for social work credits with the NASW and any states that do not accept NASW certification. For a specific certificate documenting the PRE-APPROVED social work credits, a fee will be required. (See Certificate order form for fees.) Issuing of Certificates To issue your certificate in a timely manner, NGA must receive your Attendance Sign in Sheets (which will be enclosed in the Conference packet) before you leave the conference. Certificates are sent via email, if one is provided, or U.S. mail. All certificates ordered before the conference will be issued within 45 days after the conference. Attendees are urged to check their Conference Packets upon arrival to obtain the current Continuing Education information.
