This is an interactive session where attendees may ask questions and will hear from practitioners about how reported cases in their states have affected their practices.

Are we imprisoning our elders in order to keep them safe? This dynamic workshop will confront participants with the ethical questions inherent in using guardianship to protect elders. Actual cases will illustrate how autonomy can be inappropriately restricted. Participants will leave with tools to balance safety versus autonomy.
