Laura A. Wahlfeldt

Laura A. Wahlfeldt, BSN, RN, ACM is the Director of Utilization Management for the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County whose primary responsibilities include efficient and effective resource usage, patient advocacy, and revenue cycle, enhancement.

Laura began her career as a staff nurse at the University of Illinois hospital in Neurology and Neurosurgery and subsequently Labor and Delivery. After four years Laura accepted a position as weekend supervisor for Rush Home Care and later transitioned to the Utilization Management and Quality Assurance Departments. In 1996 Laura moved to then Cook County Hospital in the role of Assistant Director of Quality Assurance. She began her role as Director of Utilization Management at Stroger Hospital in 2000.

Laura is a graduate of St. Xavier University (College) with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She is also an Accredited Case Manager. Laura is also an active member of the American Case Management Association, Illinois Chapter.
