You now have a new convenient way to earn continuing education
credits — when and where it suits you. The NGA Training and
Education Committee is offering website training modules in
response to frequent comments about how hard it is to get enough
CEU hours.
The new training option is designed to fit individual needs so a
person can gain credits at any location and on his/her own
schedule. Access to a computer is necessary, but these are not
interactive online sessions. Each course module is
self-contained and designed so that the user has control of the
learning experience.
Simply download the course, study the material, and answer the
questions. Applicants for CEUs submit
their test responses to NGA-by mail or fax-along with payment of
$50 for NGA members or $60 for non-members.
As long as the
test score is 75% or better, the National Guardianship
Association will award one credit that is accepted by the
Center for Guardianship Certification (formerly the National
Guardianship Foundation). Any credits obtained through NGA’s approved website training modules can be applied to the 20
hours of CEUs required to renew Registered Guardian status every
two years. While the credits are limited to guardianship, NGA is
in the process of determining whether the training module
credits will be accepted by those states that have their own
continuing education requirements for guardianship.
