NGA Forum

The NGA forum is a service available for NGA members to communicate with each other about issues of concern and items of interest. Participation in the forum is an optional member benefit.

The NGA forum is intended for constructive information exchanges among concerned and motivated guardians, conservators, and fiduciaries on issues of general interest to NGA membership. Participation in the forum is a privilege, and not a right.

Discussion of fees is expressly prohibited, in accordance with NGA’s antitrust policy. While NGA supports freedom of speech and the free exchange of information, users are cautioned to respect the rights of others and communicate in a professional manner. NGA believes these terms of use and the monitoring of postings are crucial to maintaining an open and constructive dialogue so that every forum user feels comfortable asking questions, sharing information, and expressing views.

NGA reserves the right to delete messages deemed by leadership to be inconsistent with the spirit of the forum, or are unprofessional, disrespectful, offensive, duplicative, repetitive, copyrighted and not subject to fair use, or for commercial purposes. Members who consistently have difficulty adhering to these terms may be suspended or removed from access to the forum.

Any posting of illegal material, purposeful dissemination of viruses, or intentional personal attacks will result in immediate revocation of posting privileges, without appeal.

Best Practices:

• Whether posting a question or replying, it is helpful that you include your name and state.
• When you initiate a question or issue, use the topic line to make clear the specific topic of your question. 
• Keep each message to a single specific topic. Do not raise two issues in one post.
• Do not start a new topic as part of a reply to a previous topic.
• Keep responses concise.
• If someone mentions they are willing to share an item or information, contact that individual personally to receive a copy.
• Remember that the forum is used throughout the United States. When referencing a name, law, organization, etc. that might be specific to your area, it should be done in a way that can be universally understood.
• NGA prohibits any commercial solicitation on the forum.

The NGA forum is a mechanism to facilitate member-to-member exchange of information consistent with the NGA’s mission. NGA’s sole role is to maintain the service. NGA is not responsible for the content or accuracy of any of the messages transmitted and does not endorse the content or opinions stated in all messages. By using this forum, users agree to hold NGA harmless and to exercise due care and common sense in using any information obtained through this service. Forum users warrant that content posted subject to copyright falls into one of the “fair use” guidelines of copyright law, or that the user controls copyright for the content or has obtained permission to reproduce copyrighted material from the original source. NGA reserves the right to remove messages.
