Founded in 1988, NGA was created to strengthen guardianship through quality assurance, networking, and education. Members choose to join because NGA supports and educates guardians, promotes professional standards, offers education events and materials, and facilitates networking. Membership is available to anyone interested in improving guardianship practice.
Types of Memberships
The NGA membership year runs from January 1 to December 31.
Please allow 7 to 10 days for your application to be processed once it is received by the NGA Business Office.
Individual Membership - $225 per year
Individual membership is open to professional guardians, as well as to individuals who support guardianship in related fields of health care, the court system, social work services, etc.
Organization Membership - $300 for the primary person; $150 for each additional person
Organization membership is available to those who wish to enroll multiple individuals from the same business, agency, etc. Annual dues of $300 provide a listing for one person who the organization identifies as the primary contact. Other individuals may then be added as members from the same organization for an additional $150 per person. All benefits of membership are available to each individual who is identified as a member by the organization. Organization members are eligible to use the member discount rate for in-person training events, including the National Conference on Guardianship and the Colloquium on Guardianship. The member rate applies to any individuals employed by the organizational member. In addition, the webinar member rate is offered to a total of three (3) individuals. Member rates apply regardless of whether the individuals being registered are the same as those the organization has listed as members. All other benefits, however, apply only to the designated primary contact and any additional paid members in that organization. State affiliates and other professional associations are excluded from the organizational membership category.
Family/Volunteer/Retired Membership - $75 per year
A one-year complimentary trial membership is available for new members of the organization.
This membership category is open to family members who serve as guardians for an individual, to individuals working as guardians without remuneration, or for those who are retired from providing professional guardianship services, but want to continue to access the NGA membership benefits. Note: Members in these categories are not listed in “Find a Guardian” on the website, but they are included in the membership directory and receive all other membership benefits.
