NGA’s virtual coffee chats are designed to be interactive, with members asking questions and sharing tips that have worked for them. Each one-hour chat will have an overall theme, but not necessarily a full presentation. This is a great opportunity to ask and answer questions in real time while participating in a casual environment.
Upcoming Coffee Chat

Nursing Home Residents’ Rights and Debunking the Myth that Pressure Ulcers and Falls are “Unavoidable” in Nursing Homes
Hosted by Deborah F. Truhowsky, Esq.
Recently, federal legislation was enacted to ensure that nursing home residents receive quality care. This legislation includes specific standards and regulations that were established to govern nursing home care. The moderator will discuss these, and suggest numerous interventions that can be implemented to prevent the development and worsening of pressure ulcers. In addition, she will offer tips to prevent falls and share what to look for when visiting a nursing home resident to help identify neglect or abuse.
